Meet Our Doctors
Avon Vision Associates has been providing routine and medical eye care to Avon, Simsbury, and the surrounding communities for over 40 years. The doctors at Avon Vision Associates and New Hartford Eye Associates are well-versed in the early detection, treatment, and management of ocular diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye disease. We also co-manage with general practitioners and endocrinologists by monitoring for and detecting diabetic retinopathy. We believe that our strong foundation has enabled us to build long-lasting relationships with our patients, allowing us to provide high-quality and personalized eye care. We are devoted to providing you and your family with honest advice and the information you need to protect your eyes and vision.
Dr. Brittany Jones
Optometrist
Location: Avon, New Hartford
Dr. Brittany Jones completed her undergraduate degree at SUNY Binghamton with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. She then obtained her Doctorate of Optometry from MCPHS University. She continued her education after graduating by completing a residency in primary care and ocular disease at the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Newington, CT. Dr. Jones is well-versed in treating and managing ocular conditions including glaucoma, macular degeneration, ocular surface disease, cataracts and diabetic retinopathy.
She is also experienced in co-managing post-op care for LASIK/PRK and cataract surgery. She fits contact lenses including spherical, astigmatic, multifocal and myopia control.

Dr. Jones has worked in various settings including hospital-based, private practice, commercial and academia as adjunct faculty at MCPHS University. She is experienced in managing ocular care for patients of all ages. She is a member of the American Optometric Society and the Connecticut Association of Optometrists.
In her free time, Dr. Jones enjoys traveling, rock climbing and training as a natural bodybuilder.
Dr. Brittany Jones is delighted to own and manage Avon Vision Associates and New Hartford Eye Associates. When she isn’t working at these locations, she also provides optometric care for residents at area nursing homes. Nursing home operators and administrators are welcome to contact Dr. Jones if they need an expert, caring optometrist.
Dr. Ray Guimond
Optometrist
Location: Avon
Dr. Raymond Guimond graduated from MCPHS University in Worcester, MA where he received both state-of-the-art education and training. He also had the honor to train and work alongside some of the most prestigious ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Northeast during his year-long externships.

When not at work, Dr. Guimond enjoys watching sports such as hockey and football as well as spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Daniel T. Fitzpatrick and Dr. Sally Austin-Fitzpatrick

Dr. Daniel T. Fitzpatrick graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in June 1978 and established Avon Vision Associates at that time. Dr. Sally Austin-Fitzpatrick graduated from the New England College of Optometry in June 1982 and joined the Avon practice. A second office was established in New Hartford in 1983 and, at the present time, Sally is devoting herself to that practice. Both doctors continue to work part time.

The doctors live in West Granby and raised two daughters on their family farm. They enjoy raising champion Hereford cattle as well as other farm animals including their Labrador Retrievers. Eldest daughter Meg is a 2006 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. She has served two deployments to Iraq and two to North Africa. She is currently in the Army Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel and lives with her husband in Vass, NC. Younger daughter Mairen is a 2010 graduate of Penn State University and is currently raising the doctors’ grandson. She and her husband reside in Norfolk, VA.
